K.O.M.A. Heavyweight recently sat down with Eddie McFadden, K.O.M.A. Newsletter, and discussed his career, his future and Knock-Out Martial Arts.
EM: I’m sitting here with Xavier “X” Langdon. Hey “X”, how are you doing today? Is it ok if I call you “X”?
XL: Sure thing, Eddie. You could call me “Big Ol’ Ugly Bastid” if ya really wanna.
EM: [Laughs] Sure thing. I’ll probably refrain from doing so. You’re much bigger than I am.
XL: Yeah, but I’m a nice dude. My momma tought me well.
EM: Good to hear. So, “X”, you’ve been in the ECL for a little while now. You started off strong with a quick knock-out win and then stumbled after that with two losses. What are your thoughts on that?
XL: Well, Eddie, that first dude I fought was a pretty Jap boy like I said. It’s easy to beat the pretty ones. No ugly, no talent. Then I fought Marcus O’Neil. He’s a tough bastid and a lil’ ugly himself. I thought I did pretty good but he tagged me at one point and kept it up. Too bad to hear he’s outta MMA for a while. Hope he comes back. He’s a good guy for the division. Then I fought Nemanja.
EM: Was it strange fighting Nemanja Tosic?
XL: We’re both fighters. It’s what we do. He’s not an ugly dude, but he gots skillz to make up fo’ it. I met him a lil’ while before our fight at ECL 10 and he never ever talked trash. He’s a respectful dude. I’m glad he’s at K.O.M.A. now.
EM: How’s the camp coming along?
XL: It’s comin’ along good. We have some good guys here and have room for one or so more. Kain Mu’Nail joined us too. He’s co-captain. The team thought his experience was valuable and we didn’t wanna let that go unnoticed. He’s already takin’ charge there and he’s teachin’ us all the ropes. The little dude hits harder than some heavyweights. He’ll be champ one day. Trust me. “Gordura” doesn’t talk much, but we roll. His English is coming along. You guys only really hear his Portuguese and his translator. He’s learnin’ though.
EM: What about Thorstein Matsburg? How’s his injury situation?
XL: Terrance Reaume really messed him up. Thorstein is a stubborn kid. He shoulda tapped. I don’t know what he was thinkin’. Terrance was never gonna let go of a hold like that. Thor shoulda known that and just tapped. Looked like he’s gonna be out for a while. We have to wait fo’ the doc.
EM: There was a war of words after the last event between Thorstein and Reaume. You even became involved in the exchange. What are your thoughts looking back?
XL: Fo’ me, it’s in the past. I think Terrance is a lil’ twirp and he probably thinks I’m just some ghetto thug. Thorstein is still talkin’ rematch, but he has to be 100% before that happens. He’s in rough shape at the moment. Lots of physio fo’ him.
EM: If the ECL decides to have an Openweight tournament, would you be looking for Terrance?
XL: Nah. Like I said, it’s in the past fo’ me. I don’t really care fo’ them Openweight things but my mind may change if it ever becomes reality.
EM: What about the Heavyweight division right now?
XL: There’s some tough dudes there right now. Lama Namanamadingdong… or Namabanana… Shit. I can never say his name. Well, the Champ looks untouchable right now. We have a similar style where we both like to go to the ground. He likes to submit and I like to pound. I’d like to have that match, but I have to start winning fights before J.T. gives me a shot like that. You also have guys like Lebron who probably wants to bounce back from his loss. He’d be a good fight. Morgan Henderson is 1-0. Maybe that guy. Or there’s that new freak.
EM: No Name Maddox. “Frankenstein’s Monster”.
XL: Nah. Just “Freak”. He’s an animal. He has no place in our sport. Rumours like he ate a kid? What the fuck is up wit dat, yo? That just seems like senseless hype. Apparently he beat up a reporter the other day too. That is just wrong. He doesn’t belong in the MMA cage. He belongs in the Federal Cage. Lock this fuck up. Wait. Let me take him down and smash his face in first.
EM: You’re willing to take on Maddox?
XL: “Freak”. Yes. I will hurt this “freak”. I won’t just beat him. I will inflict the kind of pain on him that only his victims in the past have. This “freak” is a loose cannon. I wanna put a stop to him.
EM: Looks like he hit a nerve.
XL: I’m gonna hit more than a nerve with him.
EM: I’m sure Jayceon Taylor could set something up eventually.
XL: I don’t care if J.T. does or not. If he doesn’t do it, I’ll march on down to his camp and whoop his ass there. I’ll fight him at the next pay-per-view. I’ll fight him at the next Fight Night. Hell, I’ll fight him in UPF. I don’t care. He’s mine. He’s done. [Gets up and abruptly leaves.]
EM: Xavier? Xavier? Well now… this is Eddie McFadden signing out.
EM: I’m sitting here with Xavier “X” Langdon. Hey “X”, how are you doing today? Is it ok if I call you “X”?
